Looking for a Pet friendly hotel in Florence? Casa Howard Guest House is a super pet friendly accommodation in Florence, as our logo shows with its dachshund. Choose your favorite suite, among all we recommend the Terrace Room, which guarantees access to open air for you and your dog.
Florence is a strong dog friendly city: since 1996 the administration has signed a pact with animal welfare associations to imagine a tailored town for people and animals. Let’s start the tour from downtown: if we exclude the idea of visiting the museums and buildings in general, the historic center is very enjoyable with the dog: Piazza del Duomo, Piazza della Repubblica, Piazza della Signoria, via Tornabuoni, via de’ calzaioli, the Ponte Vecchio and why not, also Oltrarno and Santo Spirito. If you are afraid to have gone too far, you will appreciate the fact that dogs can get on buses and on all public transport vehicles (but taxi drivers must be warned!).
If you want Fido to enjoy a free ride, you will find many green areas on the website of the municipality (http://verdeonweb.comune.fi.it). We have chosen for you: the Antonio Caponnetto Gardens (Lungarno del Tempio, 50) and Villa di Rusciano (Via di Ripoli, 70), two oasis of total tranquility, with an enclosed area for dogs: spend the afternoon strolling around beautiful gardens of Florence and then pamper yourself (both!) with an aperitif. Indeed, an aperidog!
Head to Piazzale Michelangelo (ideal for a romantic panoramic sight from above!), here you can get the possibility to leave your dog in good company within game-paths and training (mobility dog): the owners of the dogs watch their “friends” from the tables savoring a Spritz. The appetizers are for both human and dogs!
The dog friendly restaurants and pizzerias are many, David (Via della Rondinella, 93r, 055 604565), for example, if you look for a Neapolitan pizza. Or Da Burde (via Pistoiese, 154, 055 317206), if you prefer the traditional Tuscan food (tavern founded in 1901 and carried on by the family) served with a choice of more than 500 labels of wine and champagne. If want to have a beer in a pub you can’t miss a visit to Brew Dog (via Faenza 21 / r, 055 217035) you will love their excellent craft beers. Dog Bar (Viale del Albereti, 21, 333 3510010) was made thinking about the needs of the dog, at the arrival they always serve a free bowl of fresh water (to which you can combine special popcorn or other biscuits, up to the ice cream mousse!).
If you lose your dog call immediately the number 055 328 3333, while in a central position is also the Masaccio Veterinary Hospital (Viale Antonio Gramsci, 65, 055 2347577, 24h service).
Have a delightful pet friendly vacation! Casa Howard, we’re unique, just like you are.
